Independent support through a global platform choice.

Thule was founded in 1942 and today turns over 9.5 billion kronor across 138 countries. When they set out to expand their direct-to-consumer digital sales, the architecture and the e-commerce platform needed a review, and we were there as independent support through the whole process.

A clear need, many possible routes

Thule wanted to modernize their architecture and their ways of working in order to push direct-to-consumer sales. The new e-commerce platform had to work globally and together with Thule’s omnistore concept. The requirements were clear, but the candidates were many, and Thule had no first-hand experience of the vendors. So they brought us in to narrow the field and ensure a well-founded choice.

Independent through the entire choice

Our role reached from strategy and procurement to integrations, processes and ways of working. We produced independent references, prepared Thule for the vendor meetings with the right questions and dared to be uncomfortable when it was called for. Because we neither sell a platform of our own nor take payment from vendors, Thule could trust that the advice was given purely in their interest. Once the platform was chosen, a solution for integrations and queue handling was needed too, and there our framework Nexus fell into place.

Outcome

The right platform, chosen with confidence.

  • A well-founded platform choice, narrowed down from many candidates.
  • Independent references and well-prepared vendor meetings.
  • Nexus in place for integrations and queue handling.
  • Support all the way, from strategy to implementation.

The collaboration worked so well that Thule brought us into another procurement, this time for a marketing automation platform.

Commerce Mind has nothing to gain or lose from the choices we make; they are only interested in the outcome being good for us. We see them as temporary colleagues rather than as a supplier.
